Day 1 Arrive Siem Reap, Prek K’dam, Embark Ship
On arrival in Siem Reap, you’ll be met and transferred to Prek K’dam to embark your river ship for your eight-day Mekong River cruise. Tonight, get to know your fellow passengers as you enjoy an exclusive Luke Nguyen Welcome Dinner on board. Featuring a fusion of exciting Vietnamese and Western flavours, presented with Luke Nguyen’s culinary finesse, this contemporary menu is the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of your cruise. After dinner, perhaps wind down in the lounge with a nightcap.

Day 2 Kampong Chhnang, Koh Chen
Charting a course north-west from Prek K’dam, your ship will arrive in Kampong Chhnang. Here, board a small boat to explore the wetlands near the village, watching for water birds and traditional fishing traps close to the riverbank. Meet back at your ship and continue sailing to the small village of Koh Chen, which specialises in the production of fine silverware and copperware.

Day 3 Prek K’dam, Oudong, Kampong Tralach, Phnom Penh
From Prek K’dam, take a coach to the town of Oudong, which was the royal capital of Cambodia from 1618 until 1866. While you are here, visit the monastery and perhaps take part in a Buddhist blessing experience. Rejoin the ship later as you continue sailing towards Kampong Tralach. Visit the Wat Kampong Tralach Pleu pagoda, then enjoy an ox cart ride through the countryside, passing rice fields and smiling locals on the way back to your ship. Later, you may like to head to the Sun Deck to take in Phnom Penh’s glorious river promenade as your ship nears the centre of the bustling capital. After dinner, take advantage of your free evening and head out to explore the Cambodian capital by night.

Day 4 Phnom Penh
FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ - Sightseeing
Your discovery of Phnom Penh begins with the chance to select from our range of Freedom of Choice activities. Perhaps enjoy a guided tour of the dazzling white and gold Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, which is located on the south side of the palace complex and houses many national treasures. Alternatively, you may wish to discover some of Cambodia’s sobering history with a moving excursion to the infamous Killing Fields, before visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, located on the site of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21). Here, you’ll learn of the atrocities inflicted upon Cambodians during Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime in the mid-to-late 1970s. Your other options are a visit to the National Museum of Cambodia or a guided city tour in a tuk tuk which is an exciting way to take in a range of city sights, including the Independence Monument and Wat Phnom, a sacred Buddhist pagoda.

The evening has been left free for you to discover the city at your own pace.

Day 5 Phnom Penh, Border Crossing
Relax and enjoy the facilities on board your ship as you cruise towards the Vietnamese border. Perhaps take a dip in the pool and watch as rice fields and pagodas drift past, or take in the riverside sights from your private balcony or the lounge. This afternoon, you might like to attend a fruit-carving demonstration while the border crossing formalities are carried out. Later, arrive in the Vietnamese town of Tan Chau whereyour ship will dock for the evening.

Day 6 Tan Chau, Evergreen Island
Transfer to a small boat for a leisurely journey along the tiny tributaries that snake around the riverside town of Tan Chau. Cruise right past a floating fish farm, then step ashore for a rickshaw tour of Tan Chau. Ride past shops, rice wine rooms and friendly locals eager to say hello. Later, step back in time during a visit to an evergreen island as you get a rare glimpse into authentic rural life along the Mekong River.

Day 7 Sa Dec, Cai Be
Arrive in Sa Dec this morning. This delightfully sleepy locale is where French writer Marguerite Duras met her Vietnamese-Chinese lover, Huynh Thuy Le. On arrival, tour Huynh Thuy Le’s old house and learn the story behind Marguerite Duras’ best-selling novel, The Lover. Later, pay a visit to a traditional Cao Dai temple, watching visitors and pilgrims come and go as they worship and appreciate the artistry of the building. Then continue on to the town of Cai Be. Step ashore to see its French Gothic cathedral, then explore its colourful port area and delight in its colonial buildings and flower gardens. You’ll also visit a rice paper manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made by hand.

Day 8 My Tho, Disembark Ship
Your journey comes to an end after breakfast. Disembark the ship at My Tho Port and transfer to Ho Chi Minh City.
