Day 1 Arrive Yangon, Embark Ship
Make your way to your luxury river ship, the RV Samatha. Head back into the city of Yangon to view the famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Enjoy a Welcome Reception tonight.

Day 2 Yangon
FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ - Sightseeing
After breakfast, select your Freedom of Choice activity. Perhaps travel by train to discover some of the city’s best kept secrets, including a shattered glass factory and leafy oasis. Join a walking tour of Yangon and stroll through the historic streets of Chinatown, the Indian Quarter and downtown Yangon. Or gain an insight into Yangon’s arts scene with visits to the Pansodan Gallery and Golden Valley Arts Gallery, among others.
Day 3 Danuphyu
Today you’ll explore the township of Danuphyu, where the revered General Maha Bandula led a famous Burmese defensive against the British troops during the First Anglo-Burmese War. You’ll also visit a local cheroot (cigar) workshop.
Day 4 Myanaung
Absorb wonderful views of the Akauk Mountains and their river-facing cliff carvings as you cruise onwards to the quiet riverside township of Myanaung. Here, a delightful walking tour will take you past a range of well-preserved colonial houses and on to the bustling local market.
Day 5 Pyay (Prome)
On arrival in Pyay, you will disembark fora walking tour. See a selection of pagodas, including the imposing Shwesandaw Pagoda. Later, travel to the south-east of Pyay on an excursion to the ancient ruins at the old Pyu kingdom capital, Sri Ksetra. The region’s 1,500 year old stupas are among the world’s earliest and most intriguing Buddhist monuments.
Day 6 Thayetmyo
Continue on to Thayetmyo, a pleasant port town that once sat on the border between Upper and Lower Burma, which the British annexed during the Second Anglo-Burmese War. Here, enjoy a fascinating tour of the historic colonial-era post office before taking a swing at Myanmar’s first golf course.
Day 7 Minhla, Magwe
Stop in the town of Minhla. Learn how the British captured this fort, and indeed the town, during a war that saw an independent Burma lose its sovereignty. Cruise onwards to Magwe, where you will head up to the Mya Tha Lun Pagoda, located atop a hill overlooking the Irrawaddy River.
Day 8 Salay
Cruise to the small village of Salay, a colourful religious centre. Here, you’ll visit Yoke Sone Kyaung, the region’s oldest surviving wooden monastery. Built in 1882, the monastery is famous for its wood carvings and extensive collection of religious artefacts. Afterwards, continue on to Shinbin Maha Laba Man Paya, home to the country’s largest lacquer Buddha image, which dates back to the 13th century.
Day 9 Tantkyi Hill, Bagan

After breakfast, climb Tantkyi Hill to visit Tantkyitaung Pagoda.
Day 10 Bagan

Perhaps take a private horse cart ride, enjoy a shopping tour of Old Bagan or ascend the winding covered staircases encircling Myanmar’s nats (spirits) at Mount Popa.
Later, visit a family-run lacquerware workshop and a nearby village.
Day 11 Yandabo
In Yandabo, enjoy an intimate look at village life and watch a pottery-making demonstration by talented local artisans.
Day 12 Inwa
Today, set out on a tour by horse-drawn cart, taking in Maha Aung Mye Bon Zan Monastery, then see the ‘leaning tower of Inwa’.
Day 13 Sagaing, Mingun
Explore Soon U Ponya Shin and the Kaunghmudaw pagodas. Later, cruise to Mingun, home to the Mingun Pahtodawgyi. Here, you will see the second largest ringing bell in the world, the Mingun Bell, as well as the Myatheindan Pagoda.
Day 14 Amarapura, Mandalay
SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE
This evening, enjoy a sunset sampan cruise alongside the U-Bein Bridge with a drink in hand. It is a supremely beautiful sight, particularly during the evening when the sun is beginning to set.
Set out on a full-day tour of Mandalay, including Mahamuni Buddha Temple and the Kuthodaw Pagoda. Later, take in a tour of the Shwenandaw Monastery. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner.
Day 15 Disembark Ship, Depart Mandalay
Disembark your ship for the final time this morning.
