Highlights of this cruise:

San Diego
San Diego is one of California's most important cities and San Diego is known for its fantastic beaches, natural harbor areas and historic buildings. Full of outdoor activities and tourist attractions, including San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and Balboa Park. San Diego's diverse neighborhoods include plenty of shopping, dining, tourism and entertainment opportunities.

The city of San Diego has thrived since the opening of the Santa Fe Railroad in the late 19th century and much of the city is centered around San Diego's compact downtown district, the Gaslamp Quarter and the charming Old Town area.

San Diego features many superb tourist attractions, including Belmont Park - a major amusement park dating back to 1925, Birch Aquarium, San Diego Zoo founded in 1916 and home to more than 4,000 animals, including many endangered species; SeaWorld and Knott's Soak City USA a popular water park.

Huatulco
Isolated and pristine, Huatulco is often touted as "Mexico’s Best Kept Secret". Bordered by a 22-mile collage of glittering bays, inlets and coves, Huatulco remains virtually untouched. Its overwhelming scenery is rich with a brocade of bougainvillea, almond, and laurel trees, and surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains.

To stimulate the economy, the Mexican government began to search for an area to establish a "planned community", with strict building codes and close attention to ecological awareness, for which Huatulco was ideal. In the early 1980’s construction was underway. By 1987 Huatulco finally began to accept vacationers into its few hotels. In 1992 it began to flourish as Mexico’s newest vacation and eco-destination.

Rest and relaxation are the key attractions. Discover quiet coves for an afternoon picnic or a relaxing nap. For a snorkelling adventure, Tangolunda Bay is favoured by the locals because of its colourful marine life and picturesque coral reefs. Take a day trip to the ancient ruins of Oaxaca for a taste of history or sightsee in quaint Puerto Escondido.

The luxury resorts provide an abundance of nightlife and restaurants, while a day trip to town is often reserved for shopping excursions. Distinctive handicrafts like leather goods, textiles, and pottery are available at local markets.

Puerto Chiapas
Chiapas is a state in the southeast of Mexico, near the border of Guatemala on Mexico's west coast. Puerto Chiapas offers opportunities for cultural and historic tours, as well as eco-adventures. Visitors to this port have access to Palenque, one of the Mayan world's most important archeological sites. Those looking for adventure can try white-water rafting, horse back riding, Jeep or ATV rides or hiking through the surrounding jungle.
